Pictures and Reflections
School is about to start. A summer of ministry comes to an end. Feeding the lambs at VBS, Fathers helping their kids pick out school supplies, Sharing first fruit with the homeless.
Soon I will meet my 140 new students, 6th, 7th and 8th graders who need some reading intervention in order to succeed academically. They will know from day one that I am a Christian, a pastor's wife. So I hope that HIS light will shine forth from me in all I do and say.
I have to write objectives on the board everyday. Because I have 3 grade levels, in order to get everything that needs to be on the board there, I actually have to kneel on the floor to write at the bottom of the board.
I have to kneel everyday. I think that's cool. No way I will forget to pray this year, no matter how busy I get.
Tomorrow is Sunday. It's my oldest son's 30th birthday. I let out a deep sigh. He is such a wonderful human being. Again I sigh. It wasn't supposed to be like this...
So I say, I love you LORD! Thank you for staying with us through fire and rain, even when we have brought that fire and rain down upon ourselves. I love you LORD. And I love these people, the ones in our little church, the ones who came to VBS and the Back to School Carnival. I love the people I met this summer. I love the woman I prayed with last Tuesday. I love those students I have not yet met, and the ones from last year who came in to see me last week, afraid to start High School, they hugged me and I wished them well.
Time to do church bulletins and update the Kirtland Hope Web Site. Then I'll frost ARDY's birthday cake and watch some dumb TV. God Bless Us - God Bless Us Everyone!
