Monday

It is hard for me to believe that I am writing this. Again tragedy has hit our school, again I ask my praying readers to pray. The head of our special education department killed herself over the weekend. All my students had her for math. She had the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen, and I never saw anything but friendship and dedication in them. Lord, have mercy on us all.

Maryellen, thanks for the email.
We will remember this at intercession tonight. Nothing was said yesterday so I don't believe anyone knew. I will let Eric know.

Maryellen,

It is old and it is trite, but this old poem conveys what I feel for you with the recent tragedy at your school. I came across it and cut and pasted it below:

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!

I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind).
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way!

I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

Your new friend,

~Kevin

So sorry to hear. Will pray for you all there. I know it is hard for a school when stuff like that happens and smaller schools feel it more than larger ones I think. I am wondering if there are specific curses on the land/school there or something. With the one student death a couple months ago and now this.

thank you all for your kind words and prayers. the service is today. (thursday)
we've been doing standardized testing this week and all things considered it is going very well.
as for the "curse on the land" question, perhaps the lastes post will shed some light on the subject. we need a lot of light shed these days...The LIGHT...shine Jesus shine

her funeral service was very nice...
the main message: She was flawed, but very lovely and very much loved.
she was a "believer". She was successful, brilliant, beautiful and very active in her church...
I feel so bad for her daughter - still in highschool, and her son.
