BRRRRRR

Anyone else out there cold?
It was -1 degree this morning when I got to work.
I had to go out to the football field and convince a dozen or so young men that it was too cold to play outside until the bell rang.
All of them had nothing more than hooded sweatshirts on, and the hoods were not up, nor were they zipped. I'm not sure if it is actually all they have, or just the fashion statement of choice. They wear those hooded sweatshirts, mostly black ones, all year round. When we were having our heat wave and it was 100+, they wore them, they wear them indoors and out.
Oh, well...let me take a look as Psalm 5 before I get back to my research.
"For thou art not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, no evil dwells with Thee."
"Hold them (the ungodly) guilty, O God, by their own devices let them fall, for they are rebellious against thee."
I am very, VERY glad that tomorrow is Friday! And only one more week until Christmas Vacation begins. I love being a teacher!

I can't believe it gets that cold in your neck of the woods! It was -3 here in Wisconsin and I know that you are used to that temp since you came from Rochester but is this unusual for you to have this kind of cold????
Can't wait to get our heat bill next month!! It's going to be a doozy....

It's quite a bit colder up here in Canada. But that's why we're all so good at Hockey!

I'm cold too...it is supposed to snow tonight.

I just went and reread some of your last post comments. I'll let one of my favorite old time Christian Rock bands (Petra) say it for me: "More power to ya! When you're standing on His word. When you're trusting with your whole heart in the message you have heard!" I'm glad you are delving into the word. May your questions be answered. I pray that those who have ears will listen to what Jesus has to say. That means me, you, and your friends.

I also was brought to tears that a self-proclaimed paegan minister could make me feel so sad about infighting amongst Christians. No offense to him, I am very glad he has been commenting on your blog. By having others besides Christians commenting, we should be kept aware of the Great Commandment.

i am really trusting for one of those oil in my lamps miracles...'tis the season after all. our propane is nearly out and we won't have cash for a refill unitl Thursday...a large percentage of the homes in shiprock heat with pellet stoves, wood and/or coal. Ahh the smell of burning pine, cedar and pinon.
you know folks, most of my questions are rhetorical. I'm not new to this Bible Study thing. But even when I'm finished, for those who think I have no Biblical Support for my position, it will make no difference. We could make a list...my list of Bible References is longer than yours, I win! A while back I wrote a piece about a Puzzel. An illustration I've used when teaching kids about just how wonderful the Bible is. And how important every piece is. A revised version is coming to mind. Maybe that will be my next post.

zI can't wait for "Winter" Break....and yes it's super cold here, but not as cold as you're experiencing. Compared to you, our weather seems warm, but it's been getting in the low 30's at night now and that is way cold compared to what I'm use to. :)

We have midterms this coming week, I have to write an American History and New Mexico State History exam today. On Tuesday, the powers that be have decided we need to have an evacuation drill. This means we will be walking (nearly 400 of us) to the Elementary School that is about 1/4 a mile from campus. I hope it will be warmer by then. Our usual winter tempertures are in the teens at night and fortys or fiftys in the sunny hours. After the drill the kids are supposed to settle down and take a Language Arts Midterm. But only five more days of school until Christmas Break! Yeah!

The frequency of such a statement surprises me. What of the good Samaritan story? You realize, don't you, that if translated to US readers in 2001 the nationality would best be replaced with Afghani? Were all Afghani sympathizers with Al-Quada? No, but remember the mentality. That is similar to how the Samaritans were viewed. Even from a biblical standpoint I would not be considered evil. Just wrong.

Not that I believe myself to be wrong, but since so many of you voice surprise when I hit a note that makes sense, maybe you should consider the above, along with the fact that even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Blessings.
